9-Day Guided Liver Cleanse & Wellness Retreat
Nourish, Reset & Reconnect in Nature
Support your body through a guided liver cleanse experience combined with nourishing food, restorative practices, and immersion in nature.
Skill level: Beginner & Intermediate
What to Expect
This 9-day immersive retreat offers an opportunity to slow down, reset, and reconnect with yourself surrounded by the lush beauty and calming rhythm of the Peruvian Amazon forest.
Designed to gently support the body’s natural cleansing and restorative processes, the experience combines nourishing food, supportive wellness practices, deep rest, and unhurried time immersed in nature.
At the heart of the retreat is a guided liver cleanse protocol inspired by approaches many people attempt at home, but experienced here within a calm, supportive, and carefully guided environment.
The program combines periods of light cleansing, nourishing meals, supportive wellness practices, and rest designed to gently support the body’s natural elimination and restorative processes.
Everything is thoughtfully taken care of — from wholesome meals and supportive detox practices to restorative movement, peaceful routines, and personalized guidance — allowing you to fully relax into the experience.
Days unfold at a calm and steady rhythm with space to rest, reflect, move gently, nourish the body, and reconnect with a slower and more grounded pace of living.
Gentle restorative practices, nourishing plant-based meals, supportive wellness routines, and immersion in nature are thoughtfully woven throughout the retreat experience. Alongside guided activities, there is also plenty of space to nap, swim in the lagoon, journal, reflect, or simply relax in a hammock surrounded by forest sounds.
By the end of the retreat, many guests report feeling lighter, calmer, mentally clearer, more grounded, and deeply rested.
The Experience
Many guests are drawn to this retreat when they feel mentally overloaded, physically depleted, emotionally stretched, or simply in need of a true pause from the pace of everyday life.
Rather than approaching wellness through pressure or extremes, this retreat offers a gentler and more supportive approach — one centered around nourishment, rest, nervous system regulation, mindful practices, and immersion in nature.
Surrounded by the living rhythm of the forest and guided with care, guests often begin reconnecting with a greater sense of balance, clarity, spaciousness, and vitality.
For many, the experience becomes not only a physical reset, but also an opportunity to reconnect with themselves and reflect more deeply on how they wish to care for their well-being moving forward.
The inspiration for this retreat began years ago after Johanne discovered a liver cleanse protocol through a book on nutrition and wellness. Curious to experience it firsthand, she decided to try it herself — despite already living a healthy plant-based lifestyle. After noticing how meaningful the experience felt for her personally, friends and acquaintances became curious and began asking whether she and Armando could help guide them through the process as well. Over time, what began as a personal experience naturally evolved into the supportive retreat now offered at Tambo Ilusión.
Retreats at Tambo Ilusión are intentionally kept small, personal, and deeply supportive. Rather than a large commercial retreat environment, guests are welcomed into a peaceful family-run space centered around meaningful connection, simplicity, nature, and genuine hospitality.

Guest Reflections
We feel deeply grateful for the experiences guests have shared with us over the years. Here are a few reflections from participants who joined us for this retreat.
“Staying with Johanne and Armando was like visiting your favourite cool aunt and uncle — so warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and full of vibrant life force.
I arrived for the 9-Day Liver Cleanse Retreat feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and in urgent need of a full-body reset. I left feeling lighter, clearer, calmer, and deeply renewed — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
The lagoon is pure magic, and nothing compares to relaxing in the hammocks while watching birds and monkeys moving through the forest. Johanne and Armando created such a meaningful experience that I decided to return the following week to volunteer.
Being at Tambo Ilusión inspired me not only to care more deeply for my health and well-being, but also to reconnect with my goals and the kind of life I want to create. Truly an unforgettable experience.”

“This was my third time returning to Tambo Ilusión, and what a joy it was to come back. I first came for a yoga retreat in 2015, returned for a liver cleanse retreat in 2016, and came back again with my mother in 2021 for another cleanse experience.
Johanne and Armando are incredible hosts who create an atmosphere that feels peaceful, nourishing, and deeply restorative. After the cleanse, I felt rejuvenated and mentally clear thanks to the nourishing meals, the slower pace of life, and the beautiful natural surroundings.
The tambos have been thoughtfully renovated with private bathrooms, spacious showers, and screened porches with hammocks where we spent hours reading, talking, and watching monkeys and birds.
The food was colorful, healthy, and delicious throughout the retreat. Our days included yoga classes in the maloca, swimming in the lagoon, forest walks, spending time with Johanne’s horses, and simply relaxing immersed in nature.
I would highly recommend Tambo Ilusión to anyone seeking a peaceful and restorative wellness retreat experience.”

“I completed an incredible guided liver cleanse and wellness retreat with Johanne and Armando at Tambo Ilusión, and it was truly a beautiful experience.
From the moment I arrived, they made me feel welcomed and cared for within a peaceful environment that genuinely supported rest, reflection, and well-being.
The food was nourishing and beautifully prepared, and Johanne’s attentiveness throughout the retreat made a lasting impression on me. Whenever I had questions or concerns, she always took the time to help with genuine kindness and care.
I also deeply enjoyed spending time on the beautiful property they have lovingly restored over the years. Armando shared so much knowledge about the land and the plants growing throughout the forest. I swam daily in the lagoon and appreciated having quiet space to reflect and simply be present in nature.
What an extraordinary place and such beautiful people. I highly recommend Tambo Ilusión for anyone interested in wellness, yoga, Reiki, nourishing food, or simply spending meaningful time immersed in nature.”
