ABOUT

With my beloved horse, Ayla. We rescued her from a difficult life as a working horse, and she has now been part of our family for over 12 years.

Spending time with her is one of the most grounding and restorative experiences I know.

I’d love to share that experience with you.

Hi, I’m Johanne.

I create deeply supportive spaces where people can slow down, soften, reconnect with themselves, and experience a more grounded and nourishing way of living.

Creating a heart-centered life and career that feels aligned, honest, and deeply fulfilling has been one of the guiding forces of my journey. I feel most alive when creating supportive experiences and environments where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and rediscover greater clarity, balance, vitality, and presence through nature, nourishment, meaningful connection, and restorative practices.

Like many people, I’ve stood at crossroads — and still do. I’m not interested in pretending to have life completely figured out, but rather in consciously creating a life rooted in presence, resilience, curiosity, and trust in the unfolding process.

From a young age, I carried a deep longing to create a life and career that felt meaningful and deeply fulfilling. That longing eventually led me to university and into a professional career in accounting, where I obtained my Certified Management Accountant designation.

I entered that chapter of my life with high hopes and a sincere desire to love the work I did each day. While I valued many aspects of that path, I quickly realized that the pace and lifestyle were leading me toward burnout rather than fulfillment.

What initially felt like a difficult crossroads ultimately became the beginning of a much deeper journey — one that slowly guided me toward wellness, nature-based living, meaningful human connection, and the work I feel deeply grateful to share today.

Over the years, my path has led me through wellness coaching, yoga, Reiki, mindful nourishment, nature-based living, and the creation of intimate retreat experiences designed to help people reconnect with themselves in a gentler and more compassionate way.

Horses have also become a deeply meaningful part of my life and the experiences we now offer. Passionate about horses since childhood, Armando and I eventually adopted our own horses — Ayla, Knight, and Sky — here in the Peruvian Amazon.

Spending time with them has profoundly shaped the way I understand presence, nervous system regulation, connection, and the quiet intelligence of animals. Over time, I realized that the experience of simply being around horses — observing them, slowing down beside them, and reconnecting with nature through them — felt far too special and transformative to keep to myself.

This eventually inspired me to begin exploring equine-assisted learning experiences as part of the more grounded, nature-centered, and deeply human environments we continue creating today through Tambo Ilusión and Santuario Alquimia (a project Armando and I have recently begun bringing to life — I'd tell you all about it if you were here).

As you explore this page, you’ll learn more about my training, experience, and areas of focus — while also getting a glimpse into the passions and values that continue to shape my work and daily life.

Whether here in the Peruvian Amazon — surrounded by forest, nature, and my three horses — or virtually through Zoom or phone sessions, my intention is always the same: to create a space where people feel welcomed, supported, and able to simply exhale.

Nourishment, Food & the Psychology of Eating

My studies with the Institute for the Psychology of Eating deeply transformed the way I understand food, nourishment, and healing.

What we eat certainly matters — but equally important is how we eat, the state of our nervous system, our relationship with ourselves, and the emotional patterns we bring to the table.

Each of us has a unique relationship with food shaped by our upbringing, experiences, beliefs, stress levels, emotions, and environment. For many people, that relationship can become complicated, frustrating, or disconnected.

Over time, I came to understand that nourishment is about far more than nutrition alone. It’s also about presence, relaxation, self-awareness, pleasure, rhythm, and learning to feel safe enough to truly receive nourishment.

This is why my approach is deeply holistic and compassionate rather than rigid or perfectionistic.

Together, we explore gentle and sustainable ways to support health, vitality, emotional balance, and a more peaceful relationship with food and with the body.

Ask yourself:

  • Does stress affect your appetite, digestion, or food choices?

  • Do you often eat while rushing, multitasking, or feeling disconnected from the experience?

  • Do you long to feel more at ease in your body and daily life?

If so, you are far from alone.

Wellness Coaching

A Slower & More Human Way of Living

Much of my work today is inspired by a simple but powerful realization:

When people slow down, feel supported, spend time in nature, nourish themselves well, and reconnect with presence, something important begins to shift.

Sometimes, the shift happens quietly.

A butterfly catches your attention.
A hummingbird hovers nearby.
You witness monkeys chattering and playing in the trees while practicing yoga.

A sunset suddenly reaches your heart.
Or you find yourself sharing a breath with a horse.

In moments like these, something softens. Something reconnects.

Those are the kinds of experiences I hope people leave with here.

Breathing deepens.
The nervous system softens.
Clarity returns.
And people often rediscover parts of themselves that had been buried beneath stress, overstimulation, pressure, or disconnection.

This philosophy is at the heart of the retreats and experiences we offer at Tambo Ilusión and the future vision of Santuario Alquimia.

My hope is to continue creating spaces where people can feel more human again — welcomed not for who they should be, but for who they already are.

An Invitation

Are you ready to feel more at home in your body?
To nourish yourself with greater ease, awareness, and compassion?
To slow down, reconnect, and create a more grounded and fulfilling way of living?

I would be honored to walk alongside you.
