Come get your feet wet! This fun retreat includes morning and afternoon SUP yoga classes in our gorgeous natural spring. If, at times the weather is not suitable, on land yoga sessions would be held in a stunning yoga space that looks out on the surrounding natural beauty. The soundscape (the natural chorus of wind, birds, monkeys, and insects) will transport you to a place of natural serenity deep within yourself during your practice; especially in Savasana, the final resting pose.


There will be a variety of styles practiced during the retreat: Hatha, gentle, flow, restorative, and yoga Nidra. Two sessions will be practiced on dry land in the beautiful yoga shala. Meditation and pranayama (breathing techniques) will also be practiced daily.

Discover a new way to play in the water by participating in this refreshingly and playful SUP yoga holiday. Experience the peace that comes from practicing yoga in the Amazon rainforest, SUP yoga in the calm and warm waters of a natural spring, eating wholesome and delicious meals, becoming more connected with nature, falling asleep listening to the sound of fauna, etc. You can expect all your senses to be stimulated!


Take your yoga practice to a whole new level with SUP Yoga. The 360-degree view that this practice offers in inversions is spectacular. On the water, one feels totally connected with the environment. In addition, practicing yoga on a paddleboard is challenging as being on an unstable surface increases the intensity of the practice, making it a complete workout. This practice demands more concentration too. Meditating on the water is an experience not to be missed either. And you will soak up all the benefits of your practice in Savasana looking at the world upside down while floating with the water caressing your dangling fingers. Bliss! This practice feeds the soul. Everyone can learn and practice SUP yoga. Tambo Ilusión offers the ideal environment for beginner SUP yoga practitioners as super smooth and calm water makes it easier with balance. If you are an experienced yogi then you shall dive in this amazing practice that will challenge you in a fantastic way.


You will also have the opportunity to take a stroll with Johanne to accompany Ayla, her equine friend (mare/horse), to her paddock and feed her. Along the way, you will stop at a viewpoint to enjoy a healthy drink while admiring the stunning sunset and Ayla grazing peacefully. This pleasurable activity offers both the benefits of equine-imity and sunset therapies, both known to be soothing for the soul.


You will also have free time to simply lounge in a hammock reading or napping, do a bit of bird and monkey watching, and/or do whatever it is your heart desires.


You will be encouraged to keep a journal for the week. Suggestions and writing exercises will be provided to get you started. During the retreat, nights usually wind down around 9:00 p.m.

Every day is different at Tambo Ilusión although every morning starts with sipping a cleansing and alkalinizing cup of warm lemon water on your porch watching nature wake up around you followed by a morning SUP yoga and meditation session and healthy breakfast. Afterward, enjoy a swim in the beautiful private lagoon, walk along the 1.4 km trail of the protected forest to explore and hug a tree, observe birds and monkeys in their natural habitat, color, or journal by the lagoon or on your balcony.
